Fifteen years ago, the movie Tous les Matins du Monde (All the Mornings of the World) was released to international acclaim.  This movie centered on the lives of composers St. Colombe and Marin Marais and their passionate journeys with the viola da gamba.  The film sold two million tickets in the first year and was distributed in thirty-one countries.  It won seven Cesar awards, including best picture and best director, but the movie soundtrack was just as crucial to the phenomenal success of the film.  Discover the hauntingly beautiful music of Marais and St. Colombe in this magical concert.

Possibly the most heavenly combination of any two musical instruments is the viola da gamba and theorbo.  The delicate touch and floating harmonies of the theorbo are the perfect complement to the sonorous viola da gamba.  Dave Walker (theorbo) and Annalisa Pappano (viola da gamba) will be joined by baroque flute virtuoso Sang Joon Park.
Taken from the soulful Lamentations of Jeremiah, these beautiful and melodic songs will move you with their floating vocals and harmonious accompaniment of chamber organ, bass viola da gamba, and theorbo.  Discover the culmination of the French Baroque style in these lovely spiritual pieces.  Catacoustic is collaborating with Hebrew Union College and the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music to present a interfaith workshop on Catholic and Jewish perspectives on the Lamentations of Jeremiah.  This workshop will take place on Thursday, February 21 from 3-7PM at Hebrew Union College (Clifton) and is free and open to the public.
