Imagine ... a world without Bach. It is like an ocean without water, a desert without sand, or a sky without clouds. To pay tribute to this musical genius, we are bringing together the best musicians for a monumental performance of his Cantata 106. Join us as we remember why Bach remains one of the greatest musical composers of all times.

This performance featured Annalisa Pappano (top) on bass viol, and musicians James Lambert, bass viol and violone, Colin Brown, recorder, Anne Timberlake, recorder, and Micah Fusselmann, bass viol.

Bernard Gordillo (left) will be playing an authentically consructed 18th-century chamber organ.

Passion & Silence

Thursday, March 11, 2010, 7:30 pm

Carnegie Visual & Performing Arts Center, Covington Directions

Imagine ...a world lived within the seclusion of gated windows and walls. Yet, in this world you find excitement, strength, devotion, and desire -- all brought to life in heavenly music. Neither brick walls nor hundreds of years can contain these Italian nuns' passion and lust for life.

This concert will feature Julia Seager-Scott on baroque triple-strung harp. Julia has come down from Toronto to join us in the performance of this incredible music. Julia is one of only two baroque harp players in all of Canada, so this will be a rare opportunity to hear the sound of an authentically constructed 18th-century triple strung harp.

Dan Swenberg will be performing on both theorbo and baroque guitar. Dan lives in New Jersey and has traveled to Cincinnati to join us in this concert.

Melissa Harvey (soprano) and Kristen Dubenion-Smith (mezzo soprano) will help bring to life this heavenly music to life. This is a performance you won't want to miss!
