Early Music Workshop: Un Castello Fra Danze E Viole – Corsi 2023

De Sphæris & ArtSemble zu Gast bei der Accademia di Musica Antica (Rovereto)

Enrolment is now open for the Academy’s Courses 2023: Renaissance Dance and Viola da gamba in the dreamlike setting of Castel Toblino in Trentino from 29 August to 2 September 2023.

In recent years, frescoes with musical subjects of exceptional importance have emerged in Castel Toblino, a historic complex dating back to the 12th century and since the 16th century the peripheral seat of the court of the prince-bishops of Trento. The Accademia di Musica Antica has decided to dedicate a series of teaching and study activities to this discovery as part of the 28th edition of the Euregiomusica Premio Bonporti – International Baroque Violin Competition. There is a scientific and artistic-musical collaboration with the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis (Switzerland), a prestigious international centre for research and teaching of ancient music. Also with Artsemble (Italy-Austria), a viola da gamba group, and in synergy with the Associazione Culturale Castel Toblino for the tourist-cultural promotional aspects.

29 August – 1 September: Renaissance Dance Course with Maria Cristina Esposito Viola da gamba course with Artsemble: Annalisa Pappano (U.S.A.), Eva Fürtinger (Austria), Isabelle Quellier (France), Giuliano Eccher (Italy). 1 September: Renaissance dance and music performance (with Maria Cristina Esposito, Davide Vecchi, Artsemble, course students) 2 September: Study day: The frescoes of the “music room” Renaissance viola da gamba concert (viola da gamba class of the Schola Cantorum Basel – lecturer Paolo Pandolfo) Course and study day languages: Italian and English.
